fake grass lawns What is artificial grass?
An artificial surface that resembles real grass. It can be made to resemble many varieties of real grass out there like: St. Augustine, Bermuda, Marathon, Kentucky Blue Grass, and many others.
Artificial Grass is also commonly called: Fake Grass, Synthetic Lawn, and occasionally AstroTurf

Do you service my area?
A bulk of our professional landscaping occurs in Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, Riverside County, Ventura County and San Diego County, but many jobs have taken us to many other parts of California, as well as, to other states across the U.S.
Our fake lawns are most especially desired in dry, arid areas where growing and maintaining grass is costly. Replacing real grass lawns with artificial grass decreases water bills by about 70% no matter if you're in a dry area or not, while also eliminating the need for a gardener, fertilizers, and other maintenance costs.

What are the for fake lawns prices?
Prices range generally from $8 - 12 per sq.ft. fully installed depending which product you choose. There are options for even cheaper artificial turf here at AGI, it all depends on the grass type and/or if you want a do-it-yourself home project.

Why is fake, synthetic grass more expensive than natural sod?
Because it is a manufactured product which carries a warranty and lasts for a very long time

What are the benefits?
Very low maintenance (no mowing, weeding, or watering)
Always green and always beautiful
Great in places where natural sod cannot grow
No allergies
No muddy pet paws
No green stained clothing on your kids
No recurring costs to replace dead, bald, or browning grass

Does the long term effect of the sun harm the fake turf grass or make it fade in color?
No, our fibers have a UV (ultra-violet) protection coating and can withstand the damaging affects of sun, heat, wind, snow and ice. Technically, the color will fade two Pantone colors over a ten-year period, but it's really not visually noticeable to the eye.

What is the life expectancy of a synthetic grass surface?
The fake lawns comes with a limited 10 year warranty: actual life expectancy is 15-20 years.

What type of maintenance should I expect?
An occasional brooming is recommended but not necessary. This will help keep the blades healthy. Pick up leaves and twigs and other debris that may have fallen on the surface.
If using a leaf blower just keep nozzle away from being too close to the surface and the rubber infill will not blow away with debris.

What about pets?
Urine is not a problem. It will just pass through and evaporate or drain into the ground. Or you can wash it out with water.

Pets will not harm the fake turf. Initially, pets will try to scratch and sniff it but they will love it after only a few minutes. Of course you will still have to pick up after your pets.

Can it be installed over my existing real grass lawn?
The existing sod must first be removed. A fine layer of crushed rock is laid down, smoothed and compacted before the fake turf is installed. For a complete installation guide please visit our installing fake grass page.

What about drainage?
The drainage is very similar to natural grass. The turf backing has many perforated holes allowing for water to drain through the synthetic turf.

Is Synthetic Turf Safe?
Many companies import their turf from overseas, namely China. Why? Because it's so cheap. Unfortunately, artificial grass manufactured overseas has little to no company oversight or government mandates and their products contain a high Lead content. Artificial Grass Inc only installs turf made in the USA which contains ZERO LEAD!
Some companies use rubber infill for their installation. a few years back, it was industry standard. Artificial Grass Inc stopped using rubber infill because of it's loose link to cancer. I mean, why risk it, right? To make a few extra bucks? AGI is constantly adapting and trying to do things the right way. AGI's currently uses eco-friendly, non-toxic acrylic coated sand.
